Deutsche Eishockey Liga needed a modern native iOS app to serve hundreds of thousands of hockey fans with live game data. The existing solution was slow to update, unreliable on game nights, and couldn't handle the spike in traffic when multiple matches ran simultaneously.
Built a fully native app in UIKit with an Objective-C/Swift mixed codebase. Live scores and a real-time game feed are delivered via a live data integration, with ReactiveCocoa handling reactive data binding throughout the UI. Core Data provides seamless offline caching, and OneSignal powers targeted push notifications timed to key game moments.
